Mr. Kleanthis Ellinas holds a university degree in Business Administration from the University of Richmond and a Master’s degree in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics. He is the President of the Cyprus Wind Energy Association since 2007 and an active member of the European Wind Energy Association (EWEA), the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and other Industrial bodies. The affiliated companies of K. Ellinas Energy Ltd group are engaged in the development, construction, and operation of energy projects, including photovoltaic parks with a total capacity of 100MW as well as a conventional power plant with the use of natural gas, located in the Vassilikos Energy Center, of a total capacity of 105MW.
He has been honoured by various organizations in Cyprus and abroad for his contribution to the field of Renewable Energy Sources, following the construction of the first and to date largest wind farm in Cyprus by D.K Windsupply Ltd in the Orites area of Paphos district, of an installed capacity of 82MW. He participates as a guest and/or speaker in seminars, conferences, and other events on energy issues in Cyprus and abroad, transferring his experiences in the field of renewable energy sources. One of these conferences was the Green Development Investors Forum in Athens in 2010, where he was honoured by the then Prime Minister of Greece, Mr. Andreas Papandreou.
